To promote the learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and create career pathways in aviation and aerospace industries to the students of San Joaquin county​

Our Undertaking

Youth Eagles Aviation and Aerospace Education began in the fall of 2005. With a small group of LULAC youth interested in aviation and space activities.

Our projects are a Cessna 150H model, a 1937 Taylor Craft –A model, a fisher 404 and a Smith Mini plane. School is one of a handful of participating high schools across the nation.

The Youth Eagles Aviation and Space Education (YEASE) STEM program provides students a unique, inspiring, and empowering STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education experience.

Our program is designed to enhance students’ technical, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills while fostering an appreciation for diverse cultures. We do this through mentoring that inspires and ignites students, school, and community pride. The YEASE STEM program is part of a larger organization called, League of United Latin American Citizens Stockton 2060, A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization advocating for higher education.

Mission

The Youth Eagles Aviation and Space Education STEM program is designed to inspire the next generation of aviation and aerospace leaders.

We provide students with a hands-one education that excites, engages, and enriches through a unique, learn-by-doing curriculum focused around aviation and aerospace. Create career pathways in aviation and aerospace industries for the students of San Joaquin County.

Youth Eagles Aviation and Space Education

Youth Eagles Aviation and Space Education program is located in Stockton California, at the Stockton Metropolitan airport.

It serves the students of San Joaquin County, such as the Stockton Unified School District (SUSD), San Joaquin Delta College, San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE), and the University of the Pacific

This program meets the Natural Science Foundation (NSF) and the NASA Directorate by expanding the number of students involved in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education

  • This program will help improve the STEM pipeline by including underserved and/or underrepresented students in the project.
  • As part of the NSF goal, this program will provide training to young women and men to pursue a career in the aviation and aerospace field.
  • We use the building of aircraft as the activity to engage learners at every level, and provide real-world learning opportunities that expose students to careers in science and technology.
  • Our program also stresses critical 21st century skills, such as communication and teamwork.
  • Our curriculum involves both student-directed and teacher-led curricula to create a powerful and effective STEM experience.
